MTS
Not sure if I ever mentioned on here that in late January Kevin got a temp job at MTS. They told him the plan was that not only would they hire him on as MTS employee but that soon after he would most liely be promoted because someone was retiring in the accounting department. It was nice because he got a free trolley pass, (oh yea for those who don't live here, MTS is the Metro Transit System that covers bus and trolley routes here in San Diego) and so my mom would bring him to the trolley every morning and I would go pick him up later that day. MTS is downtown so it woulf be at least a 20 min ride before you factor in rush hour traffic. So it saved on a ton of gas and I didn't have to worry about Kevin in a car driving to work. For the first 3 months everyone loved him. The recruiter that got him the job always heard great things about him. Kevin worked REALLY hard the entire time he was there. Not only did he do exactly what anyone asked him, he went out of his way to search for more to do. They didn't give him as much work as he would have liked. He also got very poor training because the manager who would have been training him was on maternity leave almost the entire time he worked there. But he did the best he could. I am really proud of all the work he did there. I could tell he tried his very best. Then someone else anouced they were retiring and their plans changed. Kevin's contract was up and instead of keeping him on (like they told him they would) until they had made the final decision to hire him on full time, they told him the day of in the hallway that that day was his last day. That they will let him know in a few weeks if he got the permanent job. It was a good experience. But chapter closed. He spent about a month with us while he looked for jobs but more late. I don't want to spoil the next chapter for you. :-)
