July 2011

More pictures I got off Kevin's phone.  This is when we went to visit Allen and Britany after they had their son Cam.  We went to this cute park with walkways and a little river and it was fun to go out and have a little picnic.  Cam is only like 4 weeks here.  He is now 1 year old!  YAY!  He is so cute and I am excited that we will be living driving distance from this cute family!  We miss you guys!
Last family picture before I was pregnant with little Malcolm!  Look at us!  So cute!  I am actually 20 lbs lighter now from this picture.  Happy about that.  Kaylee is so little here!

Meeting Grandma

Back in April 2011 I promised to post this picture.  SORRY it took so long!  I had to get it off Kevin's phone and since I have been using Kevin's phone most of the time now becaue we don't trust mine.  I am getting another soon!

Anyway you can find the post explaining our Easter trip back in April 2011 HERE and HERE.  I'm so glad I got to bring Kaylee over to see my grandma Melba!  I love her so much and I am so glad Kaylee gets to see her when I go to San Diego!  Looking forwaed to seeing her soon as we will be living in San Diego soon!

I love how happy they both look!  Kaylee also loved her cute dog!  Kaylee loves animals, especially dogs which is good since we are dog people.  That was a fun trip!!!

Food

Kevin and I love to cook and love to try new recipes.  When it is especially good/pretty we take pictures of it.  Here is a few things we have made in the last month or two.

Above is an Asian inspired drumstick recipe found on pinterest that is super easy and pretty healthy.  VERY yummy!  You can serve it with rice and/or broccoli.
Above is the Father's Day meal I wrote about back in the Father's day post.  YUM!
Have you heard of mug cakes?  Well a normal mug cake is you take a box of cake mix, a box of angel food cake mix and mix those together.  Then you take 3 TBSP of that mix and put it in a mug with 2 TBSP water.  Mix it really well and put it in the microwave for 60 seconds then you have cake.  Best when topped with something. We ampted it up one day.  Put it in a glass container and tripled the recipe.  Still in the micro for 60 seconds.  Kevin topped it with his famous cream cheese frosting and garnish mine with a few M&Ms.  Yum!

And these are the Chicken Cordon Bleu Roll ups I made.  Absolutely YUMMY!  I served it with whole wheat linguini and a crm of chicken soup sauce we spiced up.

Swaddle Me Daddy

So when Malcolm was still a newborn and being swaddled, Kaylee wanted to be swaddled too. So Kevin took one of her favorite blankets and wrapped her up just like Malcolm.

Double Diaper Duty

Finally some of my old pictures have uploaded onto my computer and I found this one that I took.  I thought it would be fun to take a picture showing the difference between Kaylee's diaper and Malcolm's newborn diapers.  Our origonal plan had Kaylee potty trained before the new one was born.  That is because we were going to start trying for #2 like around now.  The theme of out life though, is everything is on God's timeline not ours.  So double diaper duty it is.  It gets tricky and sometimes involves crying by someone, but it isn't that bad.  Kaylee has gone pee once on the potty before Malcolm was born and she recently pooped on the potty.  Probably just right place right time type of things but she loves her potty chair.  She asks for her froggy potty and big potty all the time.  So once we are done moving, that journey of potty training will probably begin.  Something I've been dreading but feel very prepared for after doing my reading and research on it all.  Somehow I don't think it will be any easier having a potty trained child.  But I guess that is why I practice traveling while nursing now.  I forsee some bathroom nursing sessions in my future!  lol

The Next Step

Let me start this post with a little background.  I left San Diego about 7 years ago to move in with my cousin Shannon in Sandy, UT. After living there for about 2 years, I followed one of my roommates out to Louisville, KY.  There I met a handsome man who I met at church.  We dated for a year before we were finally married in the San Diego Temple on 12-27-08!  We returned in Louisville to live and start our marriage. In Louisville, we have had our first place together, a loss of a pregnancy, brought home two babies, and made many friends.  We have enjoyed living close to Kevin's family down in Lexington.  Even though right now it isn't always the case, we have enjoyed Kevin working at Donan.  In my heart I have always known this isn't where we were going to settle down.  But we did have a great time here.  Good and bad memories were made here.  We like to remember the good.

In one month from yesterday, we will move out of our apartment that we have lived in for over 3 1/2 years.  The place we brought our 2 babies home to.  The kids and I will live with Kevin's parent's in Lexington for a month while Kevin finishes work in Louisville.  He will come and see us on weekends.  Most of our stuff will be moved to El Cajon, CA with my parents.

The Next Step: San Diego, CA!  In October, we will be moving to San Diego.  We figure that out there he has better access to not only CA jobs (obviously) but surrounding areas such as Arizona, Nevada, UTAH, etc.  We have always talked about living out west.  We figured this is our chance.  We didn't see any possibilities until now.  Kevin does not have a job yet but he has some opportunities brewing out there that just make it feel right.  Everything just feels right about it.  (Not just because I have wanted this forever I really feel like this is what we need to do).  So here we go.  I'm packing like a maniac.  Our Yard Sale is on Saturday.  We have already sold both beds and my dresser.  It is stressful over here but we are making things work.  Kevin continues to study VERY hard for the CPA and he is almost at the scheduling part of the CPA application.  He is mailing out the final checks today.  Your prayers are being felt.  Thank you for all your support during this rough patch of our lives.  We are excited for what lies for us in the adventure called life.

Little Chargers fan!  Thank you great grandma Melba for this cute outfit!! (ONE OF MY FAV OUTFITS!)
It is hard to capture a picture of an almost 2 year old in a hat....
