April 2014

April was a weird month.  It all started off with sickness and a trip to the ER for me.  So I will start with the very start of April.  The night before April fools day Kaylee had been complaining of an upset tummy but never vomited and had parts where she was just fine.  Kevin randomly got up to eat dinner and instead head to the bathroom to throw up.  I went to a Staump music school meeting that night and was getting sharp pains in my belly but no nausea or anything.  Until I got home.  I was up and down all that night with "The Runs" like worse than I've had in a long time.  I remembered I hadn't been drinking water as well as I should have the past 2 days and so I filled up glass after glass of water trying to stay hydrated.  The next morning Kevin was just fine (food poisoning maybe from Taco Bell), Kaylee was just fine, and Malcolm had been fine this whole time.  I wasn't.  That morning I sat in the bathroom trying not to vomit and felt faint and hot.  So I literally crawled out of our tiny half bath downstairs to the couch.  Kevin knew I needed help so he reached out on facebook and my wonderful friend Hypatia answered the call.  She picked up my kids while I "recovered."  Because by recovered it meant I sat in the comfy chair getting up every once in awhile to use the restroom, shaking, and miserable.  Then it meant Kevin coming home and driving me to the ER because I was really concerned about the sharp pains I was having.  There weren't like cramps, they weren't nausea (I was getting that too though) they came in waves like contractions but they didn't twist at my sides like contractions did.  They spread out like a spider over my stomach and sides.  They hurt enough where I was crying out in pain.  They sent me home with the diagnosis of a UTI and dehydration, some anti nausea meds, pain meds, and antibiotics.  I took them that night went to sleep and the next morning felt 90% better.
Meanwhile back at the Hypatia's house, Kaylee and Mal enjoyed spending the day with my fun friend and later her son.  Above is them eating some lunch.  When they were to pick up her son Chris, they got ice cream on the way home.  Malcolm then threw up the ice cream!!  Oh my gosh!!  Isn't that your worst fear that your kids are going to become sick when being watched by someone else?  Actually not the worst thing but she was SO cool about it and even watched them until she had to go and dropped them off at my moms.  SO SWEET!
The next day we wake up to this.  Malcolm threw up again in his crib.  Bright red.  Sort of freaking out I frantically text Hypatia and my mom to see what he ate the day before.  Thank goodness it was red Jello!!
He spent the day like this.
 Sometimes like this.  :-)
But mostly like this.  I think he even took a nap on my lap.  This NEVER happens.  It's a good thing we BOTH had to rest that day.
I thought this was a funny moment from that same week maybe same day.  I saw this in the superyard.
Here is the other side of that pink mound.  He cracks me up so much.  You can tell he has a big sister.  We let him embrace the pink.
April also got nice enough for this.  Lets be honest, we've been doing this all winter.
Sometimes when Kaylee wants to go outside and we can't watch her in the common area, we improvise.
So I wish we got more picture of their visit.  But this visit was so rough.  And here is why.  We were so excited for Grandma and Grandpa Sproul to come to visit.  Great Grandma Burroughs had been having a lot of trouble with pneumonia and MRSA in the hospital and so they came down to help. (Thank goodness she is getting so much better!!)  So they came down to SD for the last weekend they were here.  The first night Kevin had a rehearsal to go to so we had a little dinner and then planned to see each other the next day.  We had planned for them to meet us at Kaylee's dance class (it was observation day) and then after that I think we were going to do other fun things.  This is how the day went.  Kevin started throwing up again.  So he called in sick and I took him to the doctor where basically he had the stomach flu that was lasting a long time.  Just in case he pooped in a cup for them.  Grandparents brought Kaylee to her dance class and that was fun for them.  Then after we had some grilled cheese and tomato soup and Kaylee got to spend the day with grandma at their hotel while Kevin slept and Malcolm continued his nap.  I got to rest a little too that day.  We got Phil's BBQ take out for dinner (That was the plan we were going to go THERE for dinner but Kevin's sickly self had to be sick).  The next day we were going to go to Sea World and I was super excited!  We have passes and they were going to buy tickets.  Well the next morning we wake up and Kaylee was complaining of a tummy ache again.  I thought she was just hungry then she vomited on the stairs.  We were thinking of going anyway, but she still seemed to not feel good.  So I had the grandparents go out and to Old Town with the Mormon Battalion and stuff by themselves.  It's a good thing we didn't go because Kaylee started to yell and scream at us and because I dragged her in the bathroom, she vomited right on the bathroom floor (other than the carpet or red chair).  Apparently asking her if she feels like she might throw up translates to do you want to throw up and she gets really mad and upset if you ask her that.  Especially when she really is going to throw up.  Anyway, Kevin went to work that day and felt good enough when he got home to help me a bit and go with his mom to get dinner.  (I also got to go on a fun walk with her!)  We had Panda Express which Kaylee says is her favorite.  :-)  They had to go the next morning.  Sorry for all the sickness!!  I'm glad you came to see us though!!!
Oh so I haven't posted on this blog ANYTHING about this.  A little over 2 months ago I started my own business with Nerium International.  Just to earn some extra money to help us buy a house or just contribute to our family more.  This month I earned my first free bottle of Nerium.
Also in April Malcolm learned to climb ladders.  He also likes to go down them (mom heart attack!)
April 11th we had a Staump concert.  It was a cool one for us because it was the first one since Staump partnered with Santee Rec and so our Choir was so much bigger and it sounded pretty awesome too!
 THIS FACE!!!
I also got to bring the fam to my friend's son's birthday party!  I hadn't seen my friend Jackie since High School and she is such an amazing mom and person!  Our little girl's are 2 days apart!
I want YOU to clean up this mess.  Every day buddy, every day.
We got to scope out the park I wanted to use for Malcolm's Birthday party.
He learned how to climb up this by himslef (above) and then he decided to instead of climbing up onto the playground equipment, go DOWN the net (Below)
 HAHAHAHAHAHA
GREAT NEWS!!  This guy just got his papers in and it's all official!  Kevin Sproul is now a CPA!!!  Now to frame the gigantic piece of paper to go in his office.
Then it was his birthday.  I made him breakfast style pigs in a blanket.
I renewed my Sea World pass and have continued our awesome trips!!
Then we went crazy and got zoo passes!

Easter.  Oh Easter.  We were SO excited for easter. Kaylee had been asking for a scooter for a long time because it is a popular thing for the kids to do here at the apartments.  She wanted a princess one.  So we went to the store, I distracted her while Kevin found the perfect one with cinderella on it.  We couldn't wait to see her face as she went downstairs and saw that the Easter bunny had gotten her just what she wanted.  As we usually do we went ahead and agreed to sing in the stake choir for Santee's Sunrise service at Santee Lakes.  It has multiple faiths there and we LDS members went to represent in song.  So we had my dad spend the night so we didn't have to drag the kids there at the break of dawn.  While we were gone and my dad was asleep she snuck downstairs and got into ALL her Easter stuff before we got home.  In fact dad woke up the same time we got home.  Our hearts sunk.  In fact I had ran to the door with camera in hand ready to go.  I turned off the camera as soon as I saw her and we were crushed.  The good thing is that we got to see Malcolm open his basket and he was so excited about each thing he had to go show Grandpa each item as he opened it.  At least one of them made us happy that morning.  Kaylee continued to make the day difficult and we were exhausted.  Needless to say I wish I didn't get so excited for Easter.  Next year will be better.
Above is the carrots the bunny nibbled.  She wasn't impressed because he left a lot of it behind.  Good to know.
I went to change his diaper and he put this hat on his face.
The above picture is Malcolm sitting on what is supposed to be a little table.  But he liked to sit on it.
Kaylee sleeping.  These are always the better days.  She is so much nicer when she gets sleep!
One fun thing we got to do in April is do the MS walk.  For those of you who don't know my mom was diagnosed with MS in 2004 and I try to do the MS Walk every year I can.My mom came with me and so did my whole family.  Here is Kaylee and Grandma dancing while waiting to start our walk.

More celebration for Kevin, Claudia, Julio, Kevin, Michelle and her fiance Marcus and I went to the Melting Pot for some yummy fondue!
This is why I take picutres of her while she sleeps.  She is so peaceful and it make me happy.  She is so sweet to everyone else but me.  So this is the sweet part of her I get.  I will take it.  She is nice sometimes.
Above is one of Malcolm's favorite things.  He likes to climb on my back and hold on without me holding him.  He feels so strong.  He is strong.  :-)
See!!  She really can be nice.  This was a good day.  I remember we had many bad days, and then a good day!
This is actually from the first of May, but he is so cute I wanted to put it here. :-)
