Utah/ San Diego: Part 1

So on June 24th, My brother in law Allen and his beautiful wife Britany had their first born Cameron James Sproul.  He is the first nephew for us so it was very exciting!  We were able to go out to Utah for this little guy's blessing and had the best time!  Britany and Allen are such good parents and Cam is so tiny and sweet!  He is such a good baby and it was so fun being able to hold a newborn and watch how fast he grew just in the short time we got to see him!  He has dark curly hair and little skinny limbs!  I should also mention he is almost a pound lighter than Kaylee was when she was born.  He was 7 lbs 5 oz and Kaylee was 8 lbs 3 oz.  So Kaylee was never as small out of the womb as Cam was when I saw him.  SO CUTE!  I love little babies!  (Also, No I didn't get baby hungry while I was out there...)

This is a picture of Cam after he was born.  I hope Allen doesn't mind that I stole it from his facebook. :-)  It was fun being able to spend time with their family shopping, eating pizza and taking walks at the canyon, and breakfast at Joe's.  So fun!  Oh another thing is the camera I brought with me ended up being broken so all the pictures I post of this vaca was either by phone or someone else's shot.

My parents drove up from San Diego to spend a weekend in Utah and drive me and Kaylee back to San Diego at the end of the trip.  While Allen, Britany, Cam, Don and Jayne went to a family reunion, we were able to visit with my Uncle Cary, Aunt Pia, cousin Michael and Annika and my cousin Mianna.  We had dinner with most of them the friday night we were there and then the next day had lunch with all of them including Mianna.  I hadn't seen then in probably 5 or 6 years?  It has been way too long.  It was nice to see all of them and meet my cousin's new wife Annika!  She is SO amazing and fits in the fam well I think.

Dinner at Uncle Cary and Aunt Pia's house.  Left to Right:  Charlie Connors, Sarah Connors, Kaylee Sproul, Curtis Connors, Cindy Sproul, Kevin Sproul, Annika Connors, Michael Connors, Johnny Strubell, Johnny's girl Stephanie Smith, Cary Connors.
My Aunt Pia captured this precious moment with Kaylee.  So cute!

The road trip from Utah to San Diego went really well.  The first day we brought Kevin to the airport :-( and then headed toward St. George, UT.  We decided to stop by Walmart to pick up a few things on the way and ran into Don, Britany, and Allen which was really funny!  So I got to say one last goodbye before heading out.  We also stopped at BYU to check out the ROTC riffles my brother works with there.  It was interesting, and we got to see the inside of the gym/basketball court.  There is an indoor track for running there which I am sure is common, but I had never seen one.

The hotel in St. George was AWESOME!  We got a good deal at this hotel (I don't remember the name) and there was a nice pool with a jacuzzi and a hot breakfast in the morning.  It was fun swimming with Kaylee and the fam.  Poor Kaylee was a little sleepy but it was worth it to get to swim and have a chance to go in the hot tub!  They also had a huge selection for their free hot breakfast in the morning.  There was eggs, bacon, sausage, beef and bean burritos, hash browns, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, cereal, waffles (both big and mini), juice, and hot chocolate!  Oh my goodness!  I have never seen a free breakfast this good.  Plus the seats were comfy, and they even had a high chair for Kaylee to sit in.  The server girls were in love with Kaylee.  I even had Kaylee melt their hearts with blowing kisses.  I made it look like it was her idea.  Kaylee now can do a few "tricks" when she feels like doing them on command.  sometimes I will whisper behind her, "blow kisses" and she will do it.  Sometimes she does do it all on her own though which is way awesome!  Anyway, the next day was the long one and she did fantastic.

When we got to San Diego, We put Kaylee on a blanket while we unpacked.  As you can see, My dad loved having his granddaughter there.  It was funny because at first  she wouldn't even touch the grass.  She got over that by the end of the trip.
This is the end of blowing kisses.  What a sweetheart!  She is so loved! (BTW- These were taken on my phone)

More to come...

9 Months Old!

We went to the doctor today and Kaylee now weighs 17 lbs 1 oz (the 10-25%) and She grew and inch 26 1/2 inches tall!  (Also 10-25%)  The doctor was impressed with all that she can do and said that she is doing fantastic.  It is funny because she always gets comments about how small she is (I swear I feed this girl!)  and she was born at 8 lbs 3oz which a good big baby size!  But we love our little mover and feel blessed to have her in our lives!

Kaylee has quite the personality.  She crawls everywhere and gets into EVERYTHING!  She loves to be with her mom and dad and it is heaven when she can be with both at the same time!  Family time rocks!
Stare down!  I love Kaylee in pigtails!  She is so adorable!  Kaylee is also able to pull herself up on things and has started to cruise walking from object to object trying to travel!
Kaylee can also clap on command!  She rewards herself when she does a good deed with a nice applaude!  It is so cute.  She can wave, and occationally give high fives.  She is so talented!
Most of all, she is so goofy!  She loves making faces and moving her newly discovered tongue!  I love this cute personality emerging from our little girl!  She is going to say the funniest things when she can talk.  Oh, talking about talking, she can say dada, mama, and garbles.  Not the word garbles, but the strangest garbley sounds come out of her mouth sometimes.  We love to hear her talk.  I will post some videos below.
9 months in, now 9 months out!  I have had to share her with the world for 9 months!  I had her all to myself for 9 before that!  Oh how time flys!

Now, for the videos:

The above video is a little example of the sounds and talking that comes out of her mouth.

The above video is after a day where I had to postpone her second nap.  So she is slightly slap happy and that is my favorite because I can make her laugh for once!

Happy 9 months my little Kaylee!  You're the cutest!

Peachs and Pigtails

I haven't posted in awhile so I thought I would share a few fun moments we have had lately.  As Kaylee grows it is fun to introduce her to new thing whether it is food, or hair styles.  Here are a few pictures of our adventures.  I use that term loosely.

First time chomping down a peach with daddy
I decided to try out pigtails.  It was a wiggly job, but it worked.
July 4th weekend, Great Grandma Burroughs came to visit and got this lovely moment of Kaylee asleep on her lap.  What a perfect picture!!

8 months a Daddy

Happy Fathers Day to all the Fathers out there!  Especially to Curtis Connors and Don Sproul, who are wonderful dad's and father in laws to us and WONDERFUL Grandpas to Kaylee!

But most of all I would like to say Happy Fathers Day to my wonderful husband Kevin.  He is such a great dad and has such a great time with Kaylee.  I know that he looks forward every day to see Kaylee when he gets home from work.  He loves to play with her and see her accomplishments.  He is so proud of her and feels so blessed to have her in his life!  Here is some pictures of the two of them together!

Kaylee sure loves her daddy!  I love them both!!

And on another note, for your viewing pleasure:

"I'm not a laundry, I'm a (Kaylee)"

So one of my favorite stories of me as a kid was when I was hiding in the laundry basket.  My mom saw me and pretended she didn't noticed and went on doing laundry as normal.  I then exclaimed, "I'm not a laundry!  I'm a Cindy!"  Very cute!  So I found this to be a fun and easy way to change the laundry loads while Kaylee is awake.

She makes everyday life 100% better.  :-)

First time at the Zoo

Kevin and I had been to the zoo a long ways back when my niece Paisley was a baby and we were childless.  But for Mother's Day Kevin bought me Zoo passes!!  SO HAPPY!  So last Saturday we took Kaylee to the zoo for the first time.  Of course she hung out in her stroller and drank a bottle not paying too much attention to the animals, but it was super fun!  I love walking around the zoo.  I could have stayed there longer but since we have passes and Kevin has a bad back, we headed back after about 2 hours.  Here is a few pictures of our zoo adventure!

Me and Kaylee ready to go into the Zoo
I love her dress!  It reminds me so much of the zoo!  Flamingo!
Daddy and Kaylee with the flamingos in the zoo!
Of course we had to drop by and visit by brother!
There he is.  Swimming happily in the water!  Too bad we missed his show.  We will catch it another day!
To clear the confusion since clearly I am not a seal myself, my family has many inside jokes.  They all have odd stories.  This one starts without me.  My family (minus me who was living in Joshua Tree, CA at the time) all went to Sea World in San Diego where there was a show called Fools with tools.  It was a Sea Lion/ Seal show.  Charlie and Dad then started calling it Charlie with tools or Dad with tools.  Then somehow that turned into one of them being a Seal.  I side with my dad on this one.  For it is Charlie who is a seal.  I know, it is weird.  But very entertaining for us.  Anyway, it was a perfect day and we had so much fun!  Looking forward to many fun trips to the zoo this year!
